2. Airwallex
Airwallex is a cross-border option for an eligible UK business that receives GBP and needs to pay EUR expenses. The UK pricing shown here is not evidence that every freelancer living in Slovakia can open the account, so verify your legal entity, registered address and onboarding eligibility.
Features:
According to Airwallex's UK plan comparison, Explore includes:
- Accounts with local bank details in 20+ currencies and local transfers to supported destinations.
- Company cards, international batch transfers, bill pay, expense management and Xero/QuickBooks integrations, subject to plan limits.
- Up to ten company cards and five spend users with no separate charge within the listed usage policy; other card or user charges may apply.
Grow adds up to 50 company cards with no separate card charge within its usage policy, plus customisable approval workflows. Accelerate is a custom enterprise plan with more advanced entity management and integrations.

3. Payoneer
Payoneer is designed for cross-border client and marketplace payments. It may be useful when a freelancer has clients in several countries, but the account's receiving details do not automatically make it a domestic Slovak business bank account.
Features:
According to Payoneer's receiving-account explainer and pricing page:
- Receiving-account details in supported currencies for eligible business users.
- Client payment requests, marketplace collections, currency balances and withdrawals to a bank account.
- The ability to convert between supported balances and pay other Payoneer users or external recipients, subject to the account's eligibility and fee schedule.
Fees:
According to Payoneer's pricing page:
- Payments from another Payoneer customer's balance are listed with no Payoneer fee; marketplace fees vary by platform.
- A receiving-account payment in your local currency is listed with no Payoneer fee, while one in a non-local currency is listed at 1%, with a US$1-equivalent minimum. What counts as “local” depends on your account and location.
- Card-funded client payments can cost up to 3.99% plus US$0.49-equivalent; EU or UK bank-account-funded client payments are listed at 1%.
- Conversion, withdrawals and card use can incur further charges. Payoneer says fee availability varies by account, territory and payment method; review the fee screen in your account.
4. Revolut Business
Revolut Business offers UK-priced plans for eligible UK business structures. A UK freelancer working from Slovakia should not assume a UK-registered business account remains eligible unchanged after a move; confirm residence and registered-business requirements with Revolut.
Features:
According to Revolut Business's UK plan comparison, Basic includes:
- Multi-currency accounts with supported local or global details, virtual and physical cards, and recurring or scheduled payments.
- Ten included local transfers and £1,000 monthly exchange at the listed interbank rate.

Fees:
According to Revolut Business's UK plan comparison:

- Exchange above the plan allowance and out-of-hours exchange may have additional charges; check the live quote.
- Additional transfers, cards, payment acceptance and optional tools have their own plan-dependent charges.
- The plan's UK price does not itself establish account availability for a business operated from Slovakia.
5. Tide
Tide focuses on UK business banking and administration for eligible sole traders and companies. It may remain relevant to a freelancer with an eligible UK business, but it should not be described as a Slovak EUR account or an assured route for someone relocating.
Features:
According to Tide's UK pricing comparison:
- UK account and card-payment tools, Direct Debits, business cards, payment links and limited invoicing on Tide's entry plan.
- Smart includes 30 monthly bank transfers, one team card and Xero Connector; Pro lists no stated cap on eligible bank transfers under its plan terms and includes two team cards.

Frequently asked questions
Can I keep a UK business account if I work from Slovakia?
Possibly, but it depends on the provider and your business structure, registration and residency. Do not assume that a UK-priced Airwallex, Revolut Business or Tide plan can be opened or kept solely because it appears in this comparison. Ask the provider about your specific setup.
Does a EUR receiving detail replace a Slovak business bank account?
Not necessarily. Compare the account-holder name, IBAN and payment route your clients or suppliers require, along with any local bank services or registrations. A multi-currency receiving account may handle cross-border invoices without providing every local service.
What is the most useful fee comparison for GBP income and EUR costs?
Use an example invoice amount and compare the full path: receiving the GBP, holding it, converting to EUR, and paying the final recipient. Include subscription, FX, transfer, card and withdrawal fees where relevant.
