An update on Vimeo plans

We’re introducing new plans to match how different people use Vimeo. Before renewal, you can choose whichever new plan best suits you.

The first people to use Vimeo were filmmakers. Over time, we evolved to serve other users too, from small teams to large companies.

But our plans didn’t evolve with us. Despite their different needs, an independent filmmaker and large company got the same plan at the same price. As a result, neither was properly served. For example:

  • A filmmaker sharing a small portfolio used the same plan as a company with terabytes of video embedded across multiple domains.
  • As they grew their audience, a filmmaker would hit bandwidth limits designed to manage commercial distribution for businesses.
  • Companies could bypass limits by signing up with multiple accounts meant for individuals.

So, starting today, we're rolling out a new set of plans to address this. Here’s what’s changed and why:

  • Public storage and bandwidth are free and unlimited—so filmmakers can freely share all their work on Vimeo.
  • The entry tier is cheaper, with less storage and fewer features—so fewer people pay for benefits they don’t need.
  • Plans differ by Managed storage, which is for non-public and embeddable videos only. This means creators sharing work publicly on Vimeo avoid limits designed for business hosting.
  • Companies aren’t allowed to use our new individual plans. Instead, they transition to our new Studio plan—with business-level features and capacity at a lower price than our Enterprise plan.

The new plans for individuals are Free, Creator, Core, and Professional. You can see how they compare here.

*If you’re an existing user transitioning to Core, your Managed storage is increased to 2 TB, so you keep all your previous storage. If you downgrade to Core, or

At your next renewal, you will automatically transition to whichever new plan keeps your full storage and features at the lowest price, to ensure you don’t lose any video.

  • Users on Starter or Plus will transition to Core, with the option to downgrade to Creator or upgrade to Professional.
  • Users on Standard, Advanced, Pro, or Business will transition to Professional, with the option to downgrade to Core or Creator.

You will receive a notice email one month before your renewal informing you of the change, at which point you can:

  • Renew on your new plan, with no action required
  • Upgrade or downgrade to a different new plan of your choice
  • Cancel your subscription to avoid any billing

We know plan changes have been disruptive in the past. That’s why we’re giving notice in advance, and have taken nearly a year to ensure that our new plans are sustainable in the long-term for everyone—no matter how they use Vimeo.
