  • Volkswagen approves Continental tires as original equipment for the new ID. Cross
  • EcoContact 7 summer tire in 17-, 18- and 19-inch sizes
  • WinterContact TS 870 P as an option for the colder months
  • AllSeasonContact 2 recommended for year-round use

Hanover, Germany, November 5, 2026. Continental has received original-equipment approval for the new Volkswagen ID. Cross. The all-electric compact SUV is factory-fitted with the EcoContact 7 summer tire in 17-, 18- and 19-inch sizes. For winter use, Volkswagen recommends Continental’s WinterContact TS 870 P. In addition, the 18-inch AllSeasonContact 2 is recommended for drivers who prefer all-season tires.

The EcoContact 7 is designed for low rolling resistance and high mileage, supporting energy-efficient and cost-effective driving. Its Smart Energy Casing technology uses innovative materials in the carcass, inner layer and sidewall to reduce friction within the tire. Additionally, the special Aerodimple structure on the sidewall reduces air turbulence behind the tire, lowering aerodynamic drag. The Silent Pattern tread design dampens rolling noise, particularly at city driving speeds.

For the cold season, Volkswagen recommends the WinterContact TS 870 P. Its tread pattern and sipe design provide firm grip on snow and ice. Drivers who prefer to use one set of tires all year round can choose the AllSeasonContact 2, which delivers reliable traction on dry and wet surfaces as well as in wintry road conditions.

These tire lines have been approved for the new Volkswagen ID. Cross in the following sizes in numerous countries:

EcoContact 7, 225/55 R17 97T FREcoContact 7, 225/50 R18 95VEcoContact 7, 225/45 R19 92T FRAllSeasonContact 2, 215/50 R18 96T XLWinterContact TS 870 P, 215/50 R18 96T XL
