SEB and Tieto Banktech are developing a secure, scalable e-commerce payment solution to modernize digital payments across the Baltic countries.

Press release, 5 November 2026

Tieto and SEB have partnered with a new e-commerce payment solution in the Baltics

Tieto Banktech and SEB in the Baltic countries have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the evolution of banking and payment services across the Baltic market. To start, the companies will develop a new e-commerce payment solution for SEB, designed to provide customers and merchants with a more seamless, secure, and reliable payment experience.

Together, the companies will spearhead the development of high-performance, secure and future-ready financial services that deliver sustained long-term business value.

The first major initiative under the partnership is the development of a new E-commerce Payment Solution for SEB in the Baltic countries. The solution will provide a modern, secure and scalable foundation for SEB to further develop its digital payment offering, support evolving customer and merchant needs, and introduce new payment capabilities more efficiently across the Baltic markets.

Beyond the initial project, the partnership provides a foundation for continued innovation in payments and digital commerce.

“This partnership reflects our shared ambition to drive meaningful development in the banking and payments landscape. By combining our expertise, we see strong opportunities to create value for the market and build solutions that respond to the changing needs of businesses and customers,” says Natālija Dmitrijeva, Head of Instant, Retail Payments and Cards at Tieto Banktech.

“Payment volumes continue to grow across the Baltics; therefore, there is an increased need for payment solutions that are not only convenient for customers but also secure and reliable. For our customers, the new platform means enhanced functionality and more opportunities for future development, enabling us to respond faster to evolving customers' needs and market developments. The partnership will help us deliver better, more resilient payment services and respond faster to market changes,” says Eerika Vaikmäe-Koit, SEB bank Baltic Head of Retail Banking.

Tieto Banktech and SEB are starting a collaboration in the Baltic countries, with the aim of developing secure, resilient and future-ready payment services and creating long-term value for customers across the region.
