Protect the Fleet, Not Just the Array: Everpure Fusion and Veeam 13.1

Protect the Fleet, Not Just the Array: Everpure Fusion and Veeam 13.1 by Everpure Blog Learn how the Everpure Fusion and Veeam 13.1 integration uses USAPI v2.1 to simplify data protection and strengthen cyber resilience across your FlashArray fleet. The post Protect the Fleet, Not Just the…

The updated Everpure plug-in for Veeam 13.1 uses USAPI v2.1 to keep Everpure Fusion fleet management inside Veeam: Veeam discovers the member FlashArray systems and their storage objects from the Fusion fleet instead of registering arrays one by one. Backups still use FlashArray snapshots as the source, so protection and recovery stay fast as the fleet grows.

Enterprise data protection gets harder as infrastructure grows. What starts as a handful of storage systems can quickly become a distributed fleet supporting critical applications across multiple locations. Yet backup operations have traditionally remained tied to individual arrays, creating repetitive administration, inconsistent protection, and more opportunity for gaps.

Everpure and Veeam have been working to change that model. The existing integration combines Everpure Fusion™, the intelligent control plane within the Everpure Enterprise Data Cloud (EDC), with the Veeam Data Platform to extend protection and recovery across the FlashArray™ fleet rather than managing each system independently.

What does USAPI v2.1 change for Veeam 13.1?

USAPI is the framework storage vendors use to integrate their technologies with the Veeam Data Platform. The updated Everpure plug-in uses USAPI v2.1 to carry the existing Everpure Fusion integration into Veeam 13.1, including support for the Veeam Software Appliance and its Linux-based architecture. Customers can adopt Veeam’s latest architecture while continuing to use Everpure Fusion-powered fleet management and storage-integrated protection and recovery.

For customers, that means the fleet-level operating model stays intact as the Veeam platform evolves.

How do you protect a whole FlashArray fleet in Veeam?

Everpure Fusion brings FlashArray systems together through a common intelligent control plane, providing centralized discovery, visibility, and management across the fleet.

The Veeam integration extends that model into data protection. Instead of registering FlashArray systems one by one, customers can use the Everpure Fusion fleet to discover member arrays and associated storage objects inside Veeam. This reduces repetitive configuration and gives backup teams a more complete view of the Everpure environment.

Figure 1: Everpure and Veeam enable fleet-wide protection and recovery across FlashArray environments.

The integration also maintains the performance advantages of the longstanding storage integration between Everpure and Veeam. Veeam can use FlashArray snapshots as a backup source, reducing production impact and enabling rapid, granular recovery directly from storage snapshots.

The broader Everpure and Veeam integration also includes the Pure1® Veeam Anomaly Awareness Workflow, which turns Pure1-detected storage anomalies into actionable context in Veeam to help accelerate investigation and clean recovery.

How does Enterprise Data Cloud apply to backup?

This integration is a practical example of the Enterprise Data Cloud model at work. EDC is the Everpure architecture for managing data through a unified data plane and intelligent control plane rather than treating storage systems as isolated infrastructure.

Everpure Fusion delivers fleet-wide control, while Veeam plugs into that model to provide backup and recovery across the environment. Each platform has a distinct role: Everpure Fusion provides storage intelligence and control across the fleet; Veeam delivers backup and recovery orchestration.

The result is a more consistent operational model that helps teams spend less time managing individual systems and more time ensuring data is protected and ready to recover.

Does Veeam 13.1 keep Fusion fleet visibility and snapshot recovery?

Veeam 13.1 and USAPI v2.1 strengthen the technical foundation of the Everpure and Veeam integration without changing its core value: protecting data across the fleet instead of array by array.

Customers moving to Veeam 13.1 can retain Everpure Fusion-powered fleet visibility, storage-integrated snapshots, and rapid recovery while gaining support for Veeam’s latest platform architecture.Learn more about the Everpure and Veeam fleet management solution or the Everpure and Veeam integration.
