Dublin, Ireland (July 22, 2026) — Learnosity has been ranked 37th on TIME’s list of the World’s Top EdTech Companies of 2026, out of 500 companies worldwide. Learnosity ranks ninth among the 111 European companies on the list and first among the five Irish companies recognized.
This ranking marks a landmark year for the Dublin-based company, which provides assessment technology for many of the world’s leading learning platforms and educational publishers. Between July 2025 and June 2026, its technology powered one billion assessment tests for 47.5 million learners worldwide across the learning products of more than 150 clients.
Gavin Cooney, CEO and co-founder of Learnosity, said: “37th in the world. I had to read that twice. To rank so highly on the TIME list, to be the first among Irish companies and ninth in Europe—it’s a real shock.”
“But what I’m most proud of is our team. We do our work quietly, staying in the background of other people’s products, and rarely does anyone draw attention to it. Now it has happened. Every one of the billion tests we conducted last year meant that someone, somewhere, was learning something. That’s what matters to me: not that TIME noticed us, but that TIME noticed what our clients are achieving with the tools we’ve built.”
“And we’re not stopping there. What lies ahead is the work that has inspired me most in recent years.”
TIME compiles this ranking in partnership with data provider Statista, which selects thousands of educational technology companies around the world and evaluates them based on two criteria. Financial strength, which accounts for 70% of the total score, is based on data regarding revenue, funding, and market capitalization. Industry impact, which makes up the remaining 30%, reflects the comprehensive impact of a company’s product and service portfolio, its intellectual property, and its significance in the web space.
