Introducing MAIA: AI That Makes Teams Better Together

MAIA is the agent layer of that stack: a proactive, multiplayer agent that puts intelligence to work across the tools people and teams already use. It brings our research in long-context reasoning, memory, and multimodal models into practical outcomes.

Our mission at Zyphra is to make open superintelligence accessible to everyone through a full stack spanning frontier models, multisilicon infrastructure, and agentic applications.

Today, we're excited to introduce MAIA in beta, the application layer that brings this vision directly to people and teams.

MAIA is a proactive, multiplayer AI agent that remembers shared context, takes action across tools, and helps teams turn knowledge into outcomes.

This beta is an early step toward making powerful intelligence more accessible, useful, and under the control of those who use it. We invite you to try MAIA and help shape what comes next.

Introduction

Work didn't get harder. Staying on top of it did.

A decision lives in a Slack thread. The supporting document is somewhere else. By the time the next person picks up the task, they have to reconstruct what happened, who was involved, and what comes next. Keeping that context intact takes time from the work itself.

MAIA helps teams carry that context forward. It remembers how work gets done, takes action across connected tools, and proactively surfaces what needs attention. You can start with your own work and bring teammates into shared conversations and apps.

Meet MAIA

Memory that persists. MAIA remembers people, decisions, preferences, and how your team works. Ask about a decision from months ago and get the outcome, the reasoning, and the people involved, with sources. That history gives the next task a starting point.

Action across your tools. Describe an outcome in plain language and MAIA picks the tools, runs the steps, and reports back. Ask it to set up a client kickoff: book the time, draft the invite, and share the notes afterward. Put recurring work on a schedule and it runs without a new request each time.

Proactive initiative. MAIA surfaces what needs your attention and holds the rest. A morning briefing brings together updates from connected tools. Meeting preparation puts past decisions and open questions in front of you. When plans conflict, MAIA can flag the issue while there is still time to act.

Dynamic apps for your work. Ask for a project board built from tasks, owners, and deadlines, or a dashboard based on Slack activity. Your team can open, revise, and build on the result together.

Your team works with the same MAIA

As teammates join, they can work with shared context and apps across Slack and desktop. Conversations can continue with the people who need to contribute, and the work remains available for the team to develop together.

Consider a team planning a launch. They can ask MAIA to find the reasoning behind an earlier decision, build a shared board from their tasks and deadlines, and prepare a recurring progress brief. Teammates can revise the board and bring new information into the conversation. When a discussion conflicts with the plan, MAIA can flag it so the team can decide what to change.

Shared decisions and their sources remain useful as people move between projects. New teammates can understand how the work got here, while the people already involved spend less time reconstructing its history.

Trust is how a colleague earns responsibility

An agent with initiative has to be an agent with restraint. MAIA follows your existing tool permissions, confirms before irreversible actions, and lets you view and delete what it remembers. Private conversations stay private; you choose which threads and apps to share.

Those boundaries matter when people work together: sharing a conversation must respect each person's access to the underlying information. Users also need to understand what information informed an answer, what action is being proposed, and what still needs their judgment. The aim is useful help that people can understand and direct.

Help us build it

MAIA is available now in beta as a standalone Mac Desktop app, as well as an app you can interact with directly in Slack, free during the beta. Setup takes minutes: connect a tool, give MAIA a task, and see what it does next. It gets more capable the longer it works with you, and more valuable with every teammate who joins.
