Why did you choose a career in human resources?
I am passionate about people and the positive impact that a supportive workplace can have on someone’s life and career. Human resources provides an opportunity to support employees throughout their journey, partner with leaders, strengthen teams, and help foster an environment where people feel valued, empowered and able to thrive. What makes this work especially meaningful to me is knowing that every interaction, initiative, and decision can create new possibilities for an individual, contribute to a team’s success, and help shape the future of the organization.
What advice would you give colleagues considering a career in human resources?
They should approach human resources with curiosity, empathy, integrity and a genuine desire to help others succeed. Take time to understand both the people and the business, because HR professionals have an important responsibility to support employees while helping the organization achieve its goals.
Be willing to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and continue learning. Most importantly, remember that your work can make a lasting difference. Whether you are helping someone take the next step in their career, supporting a leader or improving a process, the way you show up matters.
