Stephanie Koczur is a Senior Global Marketing Manager in the Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry division at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
About Alex
Dr. Alex Ilitchev has supported technical writing at Thermo Fisher Scientific since 2018, guiding scientific communication across our analytical instruments and software. They are a biophysical chemist by training, having received their Doctorate in Physical Chemistry from the University of California Santa Barbara along with their Bachelors from the University of Pittsburgh. Their graduate work centered on ion-mobility mass spectrometry of peptide aggregates, which looked to expand our understanding of a number of amyloid diseases, such as type II diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as the potential interaction between otherwise disparate protein disorders.
Alex has authored a number of academic research articles and now leverages this experience to facilitate scientific communication efforts in our electron microscopy division, helping our engineers and researchers produce clear and effective blogs, datasheets, application notes, and other technical documentation. They support a number of research areas across the life and materials sciences, building on their multi-disciplinary background as a researcher to speak to our customers on their level. They are passionate about scientific communication and education, and hope to make the often complex nature of our techniques and instrumentation understandable and accessible to anyone who is scientifically curious.
Christopher Orf has been the principal scientific marketing copywriter focused on spectroscopy and its applications for Thermo Fisher Scientific since 2022. As a trained chemist with hands-on experience in the use of vibrational spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, and other analytical techniques, he brings a practical understanding to the discussion of how such advanced instrumentation can aid in the pursuit of real-world knowledge.
Prior to joining Themo Fisher, Orf engaged in several disparate yet complementary pursuits, including supervising general chemistry labs at the University of Texas at Austin; developing, producing, and promoting original products at his craft brewery, Orf Brewing; creating innovative marketing content for ABC/Disney programs; performing laboratory testing of pharmaceutical trial samples; and much more.
Ericka graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of West Alabama and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology from Penn State. She began her career as an R&D Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2022 where she focused on developing kits and reagents for nucleic acid isolation. Ericka has helped to develop and launch several products including TaqMan™ Cells-to-CT™ Express Kit and the MagMAX™ HMW DNA Kit. Her primary goals at work are to ask questions and solve problems. While Ericka enjoys her role as a scientist, her greatest fulfillment comes from being a wife and mom!
