The gaming industry is a dynamic and rapidly growing field, with over 3 billion people around the world playing games. To continue to create games that resonate with a wide audience, it is crucial that our gaming teams bring different perspectives to the table and reflect our players.
As part of this exciting partnership, Activision Blizzard is sponsoring places across the three annual CFGdegree programmes. This initiative offers women and non-binary individuals free education and skills training, supporting Code First Girl’s streams in Software Engineering, Data, Full Stack and Product Management. Our sponsorship aims to educate, mentor, and support candidates in their preparation to secure successful careers in these fields.
Analysis of the latest ONS Annual Population Survey reveals that women make up only 22% of Information Technology professionals in the UK, including cyber security and software development professionals. We are excited to partner with Code First Girls to upskill local communities of women in core technical skills for free, removing barriers and helping to close the tech gender gap in the gaming industry.

Applications for the Autumn 2024 CFGdegree programme are now open until 28th June at 5 PM BST. This programme is an incredible opportunity for women and non-binary individuals to gain the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in various fields such as software engineering, data analytics, and cybersecurity.
