On October 1 we shipped Pareto 26.10 as a preview and said the model would keep improving.

As of today, 26.10 is the stable Pareto release. On the Unbiased API, pareto now points at 26.10, and the price is the one you've been paying in preview. If you're already using pareto, there's nothing to migrate.

The scoreboard

Our preliminary 26.10 results from October 1 are on the model card. Those are preview measurements, not a new evaluation of the stable release.

Why the cost changed

26.10 is $0.80 per million input tokens, $0.03 cached and $3.20 output. 26.9 was $2.50, $0.25 and $7.50, so that's 68%, 88% and 57% less. During the preview we promised the price wouldn't go up at graduation. It didn't. Rates are on the pricing page, and our own per-benchmark costs are on the model card.

Pareto is a blended model: several frontier and open models work on every request. 26.10 also takes a 1M-token context window.

What changes for you

API users: pareto now points at stable 26.10. Pin it with pareto-26.10, or stay on pareto-26.9, which remains live. If you've been on pareto-26.10-preview, use pareto or pareto-26.10 for the stable release. Our OpenRouter and Cloudflare traffic runs on the zero-data-retention tier. For direct API traffic, check which data terms apply to your plan in the Data Policy.

Subscribers: 26.10 is now your default, including in Chat, and weekly allowances have doubled at the same price. Personal goes from 25M to 50M tokens a week for $10. Personal Max goes from 300M to 600M for $100.

Check it yourself

Don't take our scoreboard or anyone else's as the final word on your workload. Our eval harness is public. Rerun it, or point your heaviest real workload at Pareto and compare the bill. If it doesn't hold up, stay where you are.
