The Marketplace designation gives federal agencies a clearer basis for planning around the latest Dynatrace platform while certification work continues.
Federal technology decisions rarely begin when a platform is ready to deploy. Planning decisions made now should support the agency’s future security, telemetry, and automation requirements. To achieve that, these same agencies need a credible view of where a technology provider is headed before funding and procurement decisions are final.
Today, Dynatrace reached an important milestone. Dynatrace Platform for FedRAMP Class D (High) is now listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace as in the Initial Implementation phase.
In July, Dynatrace announced its intent to pursue FedRAMP Class D (High). The Marketplace designation turns that stated direction into publicly visible progress. “Initial Implementation” means Dynatrace is currently in the implementation stage of its FedRAMP journey for the Class D (High) baseline, ahead of full certification, giving agencies confidence that Dynatrace is on a defined path toward Class D (High) certification.
Why the milestone matters before certification
Federal agencies cannot wait until the end of a certification process to start planning. Major platform decisions can span technical evaluation, security review, acquisition strategy, and several budget cycles. Waiting for the final milestone to begin those discussions can put a modernization program behind before implementation starts.
The Initial Implementation designation gives technical, acquisition, and program teams a more concrete basis for those conversations. Agencies can discuss future requirements with Dynatrace and evaluate how the platform could fit into modernization plans. They can also plan how observability, security, log management, and automation should evolve.
That planning is becoming more urgent as agencies manage hybrid and multi-cloud systems, rising telemetry volumes, expanding cybersecurity requirements, and the introduction of AI into applications and operations. Current procurement decisions need to create a practical path to the architecture an agency will need next.
Building on an existing federal foundation
Dynatrace has supported federal agencies through our FedRAMP Certified Class C (Moderate) offering since 2020. That offering remains available today for workloads within its authorized boundary.
The Class D (High) effort is a separate certification journey intended to bring the current Dynatrace platform to agencies with Class D (High) requirements. For agencies evaluating their next observability architecture, that creates a clearer connection between what Dynatrace supports today and the direction of the platform for more sensitive future workloads.
What Dynatrace is building for federal agencies
The Marketplace listing identifies the planned offering as a Rev5 SaaS service in a Government Community Cloud deployment model. It is designed around the current Dynatrace platform approach: unified observability, security, and automation grounded in contextual data.
The listing describes OneAgent automatically discovering and instrumenting applications, infrastructure, microservices, and their dependencies, while Smartscape maps those relationships. Grail brings logs, metrics, traces, events, and mission and business data together in context. Causal and predictive AI are designed to help teams identify root cause and impact and support anticipation of potential issues.
For federal technology teams, the goal is to reduce the fragmentation that makes complex systems harder to understand and operate. Shared data and context can help teams spend less time reconciling tools and more time making decisions that protect service reliability and mission outcomes.
What agencies can do now
Your agency can use the designation to start planning conversations with Dynatrace about future requirements, candidate workloads, deployment constraints, telemetry architecture, and acquisition timelines. Teams evaluating observability or log management consolidation can also begin mapping the technical and organizational work a transition would require over time.
Those conversations should clearly distinguish between what the existing Class C (Moderate) offering supports and what depends on future Class D (High) certification. The Initial Implementation designation supports planning. It does not change Dynatrace’s current certification status or authorize deployment in a Class D (High) environment.
What comes next
Dynatrace will continue working through the FedRAMP process toward Class D (High) certification and will share progress when appropriate. Our FedRAMP Certified Class C (moderate) offering continues to support eligible federal workloads today.
