China–Brazil Healthcare Cooperation Advances as Brazilian Health Ministry Delegation Visits Mindray

Shenzhen, China, March 16, 2026 —A high-level delegation from Brazil’s Ministry of Health visited Mindray’s global headquarters in Shenzhen to explore new avenues for cooperation in medical technology, digital health, and healthcare system modernization.

The delegation was received by Hao Wu, President of Mindray, who met with His Excellency Dr. Alexandre Padilha, Minister of Health of Brazil. The meeting highlighted the strategic importance of China–Brazil collaboration in advancing healthcare innovation and strengthening the capacity of Brazil’s public health system.

As two continental countries with large populations and complex health systems, Brazil and China share similar challenges in ensuring equitable access to healthcare across vast territories and diverse regions. In this context, cooperation in healthcare technology, digital transformation, and health system strengthening represents a strategic opportunity for both nations.

During the visit, the delegation toured Mindray’s innovation showroom and explored the company’s latest advancements in patient monitoring, in vitro diagnostics, medical imaging, and integrated digital healthcare technologies. Particular attention was given to Mindray’s Smart Hospital Solution, which connects advanced medical devices, artificial intelligence, and hospital-wide digital platforms to improve clinical workflows, support medical decision-making, and enhance patient outcomes.

Discussions also addressed opportunities to support Brazil’s ongoing healthcare modernization efforts, particularly within the Unified Health System (SUS), one of the largest public health systems in the world. Serving more than 200 million people, SUS is currently undergoing an important phase of digital transformation aimed at expanding access, strengthening care networks, and improving efficiency across the health system.

Brazil’s Ministry of Health attaches great importance to its cooperation with Mindray. We recognize the company’s leadership in medical technology and its growing contribution to healthcare in Brazil. Under the leadership of both countries’ leaders, China and Brazil have enjoyed a golden 50 years of cooperation. The delegation also visited Shenzhen Nanshan People’s Hospital, a leading public hospital in the region, where they had the opportunity to observe Mindray’s intensive care technologies operating in a real clinical environment. The visit provided a practical demonstration of how integrated monitoring systems, life-support technologies, and digital ICU solutions are used to support critical care, optimize clinical workflows, and improve patient safety in a large public healthcare institution.

Brazil is advancing major initiatives to modernize its healthcare infrastructure, including national programs focused on digital health, connected care networks, and the development of intelligent hospitals. These initiatives aim to strengthen the delivery of care within SUS, expand access to specialized services, and improve the overall resilience and efficiency of the health system.

Within this context, both sides recognized strong potential for collaboration in areas such as digital health platforms, smart hospital infrastructure, advanced diagnostics, and capacity building in healthcare technology.

Mindray reaffirmed its commitment to working with Brazilian partners across the public and private sectors to advance innovation in healthcare and contribute to improving the quality and accessibility of medical services in the country.

Mindray established its Brazilian subsidiary in São Paulo in 2008 and has continuously expanded its presence in the country. Since its arrival, the company has placed strong emphasis on supporting Brazil’s public healthcare system, particularly the Unified Health System (SUS), which plays a central role in delivering healthcare services across the country.
